Winter Learning Journey- Thursday- Activity 1

For activity 1 I went on this website called: Farewell spit link, I went on this site to learn about the whales that were stuck at golden bay. I then have to describe to you guys what the local people tried to do to save the whales. Have a look!!!!!!!

Things the local people did to help:


  • They put bucket of water on them to keep them wet
  • They also covered them

    Kia ora Nia,

    It really was quite tragic, wasn't it? I felt terrible for the whales and for the local people who worked so hard to try and save them. It appears that the pod was led by one whale who swam too far inland and the rest followed. Let's hope that it never happens again!
