Can you figure out these word problems?

This week we have homework. One of our tasks for homework was maths. For maths we had to create five word problems using either multiplication,division,addition or subtraction. Our maths problems had to be based on our family fun day that we had last Saturday. Here is my word problems, try figure them out if you would like.

For homework this week one of our tasks is writing. This week the writing was would you rather . The questions was would you rather be deaf or blind? I wrote my answer to this questions, read my paragraph about what I picked.

This week we have homework. One of our tasks is called Extra. For extra you basically get given extra work. We had to pick a country starting with the letter B. We had to name a famous person from that country and also write 10 facts about the country. We also need to draw the country but, I will show                                                   guys once I have completed drawing it.

What words do you get given for spelling?

This week we have homework. One of our tasks is Spelling. For spelling what got given some words. We had to learn the meaning of each word and write the meaning down. After we wrote the meaning                           we had to create a sentence with the word in it. Here is my spelling!

My AWESOME Waka!

This term we have been working on our waka's. You must be wondering what we did..so for our waka we had to colour it in and also colour which gender we are. There was a boy and a girl so we had to colour which gender we were. Here is my completed WAKA!

The never-ending tunnel!

This morning we had done quick write. Miss Tupou decided that we should do quick write so it can be a warm up for the class every morning. Quick write is an activity when you get given a picture and you have to create a story using your imagination. My quick write was called "the never ending tunnel ". Here is my story.

Family Fun day!

Last Saturday Glen Taylor had family fun day. Family Fun day is when your parents and teachers get to know more about each other and your parent can also see some of your awesome learning. I did not attend the family fun day but, I hope all the other students from Glen Taylor did.

Room 13's assembly!

Today Room 13 had there assembly. They had sang two songs to the school, one song was from the movie the greatest showman and it was called "This is Me". The other song was a song about a library but, I forgot what it was named. I personally think that they sang both songs beautifully, I really found there singing amusing because they were nice and clear and they also sang very good. Lexiannah, Moni, and TJ presented there pepeha's to the school which was very interesting to hear them read. I enjoyed Room 13's assembly I can not wait for there next one.

I got most improved player!

On Wednesday some year 7 and 8 students had represented Glen Taylor School at a softball tournament. We had two teams, there was a gold team and a white team. The gold team had came third place, and the white team had came eighth place. At today's assembly each person that attended the softball tournament got a certificate. We learnt some things about PRINCESS DIANA!

Today we ha done writing. For writing we had watch a video about Princess Diana. Miss Tupou had a conversation with the class about Princess Diana, we had to use some words that described Princess Diana. After we had included everyone's idea's we had to write the meanings of each word. We also had to use the words that were given and tell a time that Princess Diana had done that. Example: the word charitable, you will have to write about a time she was charitable. Here is my awesome work that I had completed.

FIRE and ACE

Today we had writing. For writing Mr Victor assigned Room 11 to create a google drawing with a partner about our new values F.I.R.E and A.C.E. My partner was Paige. We had to write the meaning of each letter. Here is our completed google drawing.

Softball Tournament!

Today some year 7 and 8 students had represented Glen Taylor School at a softball tournament. We had two teams, there was a gold team and a white team. The gold team had came third place, and the white team had came eighth place. I enjoyed playing at the softball tournament!

Make GOOD Choices!

As you guys know our topic for Inquiry is Choices. I decided to create a toggle that relates to making the right choices because it our topic for inquiry. Today in Room 11 we done Inquiry. For Inquiry we watched one of "Kid Presidents"

 video about choices. We watched one of his videos because out topic for inquiry this term is "Making Choices". We then had to create a slide and write down some choices that we had made today. Here is some of the choices I made today.

Today for Reading we had read a book named "Wonder". Wonder is a book about a boy named August. He had 27 surgeries on his face because had happened to it when he was born. He has never been school before and this year he is starting a new school for the first time. After we read the book we had to pick three reading responses to complete. Have a look!

My Explosion box

In Room 11 we have been making "Explosion boxes". You're probably wondering hmm what a explosion box?, well a explosion box is a a box that represents you. You use paper and art  crafts to represent you. If you want to show your cultures you can print out some photo's or even draw it. Anyways I have completed my explosion box, make sure to have a look!

Room 1's assembly!

Today Room 1 had their assembly. They displayed some of there work and they also sang some nursery rhymes to the school. Today at their assembly I also got a certificate which was an awesome surprise because I wasn't expecting a certificate. Here is a photo of their classroom.

We have a new KiwiSport

This morning we had our second session of our new Kiwi Sport. Our new Kiwi Sport is Turbo Touch. For today's session we played two games. I'm not sure what the first game was called but our game was basically ball tiggy. There was two teams. One team had to try tag the other team with a ball and the other team had to run away.  The team that was tagging with ball was only aloud to pass the ball. For the second game we had two teams. One team was an attack team and the other team was a defend team. Every time our teacher would blow the whistle 2 defenders would run and 3 attackers would run at the same time. The attackers had to try get a trie and then other team had to tag them. I enjoyed to days session.

Cyclone gita hit Tonga!

For homework one of our tasks was Current events. We had to write down 10 facts about cyclone Gita and cyclone Fehi. Cyclone Gita recently hit Tonga very badly. I hope that everyone in Tonga stay safe and that no one gets hurt. Here is my facts about Cyclone Gita and Cyclone Fehi.

Technology has started!

Today Glen Taylor's year 7 and 8's had their first class of technology. I am in medal with Mr Grundy and I m very enthusiastic to create a necklace. There is also cooking class and graphics. Here is some photo's of our first day!

For homework one of our tasks are Maths. In class we have been doing a new thing called five 5's and four 4's. This game is a game where you have to try make different equations with just 5 fives. Example.

5 - 5 + 5 -5 +5 = , and you have to try make it equal a number from one to ten. You have to try complete all those numbers in a certain time. Here is what I did.

Today for writing we had watch a short video about 10 inspirational leaders. After that everyone picked someone from that video. We had got given a planner and we had to write seven reasons why we picked our leader and what makes them a good leader. Today for writing Miss Tupou shared a padlet to the whole class. A padlet is a site where you can get people ideas or answers. So if my teacher created a padlet that was named how many people like chocolate ice cream you can write down if you like it or not. Anyways on this padlet our teacher wanted to know what kind of books we like to read and how she can help us with our reading. Here is the padlet we worked on.
