Bubblegum!

Today Bubblegum came to our school! Now when I say bubblegum I'm talking the Royal Family Bubblegum dance group. They showed us two dances they had been practising on, these two dances were AMAZING! I enjoyed watching them. After there dance we got the chance to ask Bubblegum a few questions, the whole school then took a photo with the Bubblegum group which was quite exciting. I really hope Bubblegum will come back to Glen Taylor again, Here is some photo's of the bubblegum group.

Digital Footprint

Today we had Ms Grant to talk to us about Digital Footprint. She showed us how our Chromebooks can be tracked down in our history from our teacher. We then had a task to complete, Ms Grant showed us a video that related to our task to help us out. look at my work.

Role Model-Writing

Last term Miss Tupou assigned to create a google doc about our role model.We had to explain who's our role model and why. My role model was my Mum because she was there for me ever since I was a baby and, provides me with everything I need. If you scroll down you will see my explanation of why she's my role model.

Quick Write

Every morning our class does quick write for 5-10 minutes ( Hmm what do you do for quick write?, Let me explain). For quick write, Miss Tupou goes on this website named: Pobble 365, She selects a photo for us to observe and then puts it onto the TV. The class then looks at the picture and writes a story about the picture.In the beginning of the term we did a quick write named High Flyer, I liked this writing so I thought I would share it. Here it is:)

Today We did Kiwi Can (Hmm What's Kiwi Can?) Kiwi can is a programme were 2 teachers teach us about important things that students need to learn. Some things that we have learnt about are, reliability, responsibility, respect, integrity and, so on. Today we learn about reliability and responsibility. We then played game which was very fun, Her are 2 photo's of the game.

Coin Trail

A couple of weeks ago the friends of Glen Taylor had made a event called coin trail.  (What is coin trail?) Each class get's given a empty  jar, with their class number written on the side of it. With your jar you have go to fill it up with money. At the end of the term the friends of school check which class has the longest and heaviest amount of coins. So far my class is currently coming 2nd place behind Room 12. Here is 2 pictures of our class jar :)

Happy

At Kiwi Can we have been learning about emotions. I decided to create three toggles with a emotion and a word. My first toggle was sad and now this one is happy. Have a look at my toggle !

Room 10's Assembly

Today was Room 10's Assembly. They performed a dance to wairua and they shared there awesome learning with us. We also had The Weber Bro's Circus come to our school to show there amazing tricks, there were some funny people too. Over here is some photo's of Room 10's assembly.

I am poem

A few weeks ago at Kiwi Can my class and I got assigned to create I am poems. After everyone completed the poems some students volunteered to read.My teacher liked the poems so, she questioned the Kiwi Can teachers if they could publish our poems. We had to create a google drawing and, publish the writing on. Her is my amazing! I am poem.

Descriptive Writing

Today My class,Miss Tupou and I did descriptive writing. For a little warm up we had to write a simile about the weather, a simile is when you describe something like another but, you only use the words like and as. Example: the sun is bright as gold or, the rain is like a fountain pouring non stop. After everyone completed that Miss Tupou then gave us a word called: DILAPIDATED, we had to think of as much words we could get out of the word DILAPIDATED and write them down. Then Miss Tupou put a picture on the apple tv and we had to write a descriptive writing about the picture,also with a metaphor in it. That's what we did for writing.

Culture Festival

In the beginning of the year Glen Taylor School had Culture Festival. We had a choice of which culture group we could be in, throughout the weeks the culture groups would practice there dances. (the the day came) Families were invited, Food/Drinks were on sale, and the culture groups uniforms were appealing. We had 2 amazing host, Miss Siale and Miss Tupou who planned the whole festival,and also Dj Vino ( Mrs Faalili husband) as the DJ. At the festival Tamaki College's Samoan group came to our school and had a performance which was exciting. Culture festival was loads of fun, can't wait until next year. Fair Go (Glen Taylor School is Famous)

On Monday you probably saw our Kapa Haka group/ School on Fair go. The reason our school was on Fair go was because Mr Herlihy (our principal) had emailed a lady if she could make our Kapa Haka group there uniform, and she would pay him. Mr Herlihy then payed her the cash, she replied and said the uniform will be ready in January-2017. It was months after January and Mr Herlihy was emailing her questioning when will it would be delivered, and she just replied with excuses. Mr Herlihy had enough of the excuses, so he decided for our school to g on Fair Go. People heard about what happened and wanted to help our school!, people were donating money to us and 2 couples wanted to make us our Kapa Haka groups uniform. The Kapa Haka group went to the couples house and observed the uniform. Like always Here is some photo's :)

NZ Police Dog Visit

 A couple of weeks ago 2 police
officers visited our school. They came along with 2 police dogs, to show us what they can do, and all there tricks. The police officers told us facts about them, and we also saw how they track down criminals. We asked the police officers questions and had the chance to pat the dogs on the back which was enthusiastic for some. Here are some photo's!

New Zealand Dance Company

 This term in week 2 the New Zealand Dance Company came to our school, to present a dance they had been practising. When we observed the dance I considered that the dance was going to be hip hop. It turned out to be a contemporary dance which,was
quite interesting. At the end of the performance, we got a chance to ask them some questions. I found the New Zealand Dance Company's dance amusing to observe. Here are some photo's that were taken. Have a look at them! :)

Rodents-Reading

Last Term for reading Miss Tupou assigned us to create a google drawing about rodents. Most of the students selected a specific rodent but, I decided to make a google drawing about multiple rodent with a fact about them. There are 5 rodents that are put into my subject Coypu, Mongolian, CapyBara, Coyote, and a Augoti. You have probably not have heard of these rodents, Well Guess What? now you will know a fact about each of these rodents. I have completed my poster observe my poster and Enjoy!

Inquiry- Here Is the Google Drawing

Inquiry

 Our focus this term for Inquiry is Our Part in the Community. We first made a google doc with our Big questions and then 6-8 sub questions that connect to our big question. After you have completed your questions, you then move on to creating a google drawing which includes all your questions.With the google drawing Miss Tupou told us that the google drawing had to be created with shapes, so no copying and pasting. I then had to do research,for research we had to answer our questions. Miss Tupou told us when you find the answer of your question, Don't just copy and paste, read through it and paraphrase it. Paraphrasing is when you read through and, then put it into your own words. I have completed all these subjects, Here is my research I post my google drawing and doc soon, Enjoy :)

Moving House 2

As you guys know every morning we do Quick Write. Today's quick write was called "Moving House 2". Novel Study

In our reading groups Miss Tupou assigned us to create a Novel Study about an author. My group is Wendt so the author we researched about was Jack London. I found a lot of information about Jack London, which was interesting. I took pleasure in Novel Study,I can't wait to do another Novel Study again. Here is my novel study,I hope you enjoy it :).

Volleyball

Volleyball 

    On Thursday's the Middle and Senior syndicates have volleyball sessions. We have been doing volleyball for 6 weeks sadly, in 2 more weeks volleyball will finish.(Anyways I'm going to tell you about volleyball) At volleyball our instructor's name is Antonia but, we call her Toni for short.Toni prepare's Techniques every session so, we can improve at volleyball. After the techniques are done,we finish the session of with a Volleyball game. We all get put into team's and everyone participates. Here's  photo's of my team (this photo was taken during session)

Stage E7-Gloss Test

Today I did my gloss test with Miss Tupou, my feelings expressed nervousness. I did 14 questions and, failed the 15th question,Unexpectedly Miss Tupou told me I got stage E7 (early 7) for maths. For some reason I said that It wasn't it possible for me to get that far, because my original stage was Stage 5. Miss Tupou Questioned me and,said You know why? 'Why' I replied, 'you took that NZCM maths book home and did 2 chapters a day', Oh yeah', At the end of the day I was proud of myself.If you want to improve in maths like me, you could do what I did, take a NZCM maths book home and, you never know you might succeed.

A Toggle about Me

I had some free time because I finished my work. I decided to create a Toggle about me. It is shaped as a heart. It has words in it about me, they are blue and purple. I hope you like my toggle I have created, make sure to have a look.

At Kiwi Can we have been learning about emotions. I decided to create three toggles of any emotion. Here is the first one it is a sad emoji with the words sad on it.

Kawa of Care-Whanau Hui

Today I attended the Kawa Of Care Meeting with my brother.Your probably thinking, Hmm.. What is Kawa of Care? Let me tell you about it. The Kawa of Care Meeting is when you ,and your parent/caregiver come to school to have permission to take your Chromebook home. You sit down with your parent/caregiver ,and talk about ways you can look after your Chromebook, and what websites you should be on. You also show them your blog,class site, and list down what places you should be at with your Chromebook. On the last page of the slide you and your'e parent/caregivers will have a check list that make sure you're parent/caregiver understands. (This is when the enthusiastic part happens) then you get to take your Chromebook home, with your charger and flash new Chromebook bag. Over here is a picture my Twin, big Brother and ME.
