Principals Assembly

Today we had the Principals assembly.  So obviously Mr Herlihy had his own assembly today. The school sang songs together and also Mr Herlihy gave out big certificates. I got student of the term for the seniors which was very cool and exciting. Here is some photo's of the assembly.

Pasifika Pearls

Today the Pasifika Pearls performed at the principals assembly. Like always the always do a good job at performing there dances. Today the original Pasifika Pearls danced and the new dancers just danced to Wairua. I don't have a photo of the whole group but there is one pasifika pearl in there.

Presentations for Dioramas

Today I and Sarah Jane had done our presentations for our diorama. We done our presentation about our volcano and we also done a volcano eruption. Sadly the volcano eruption didn't work out but we were still proud of our presentation. Take a look at a photo of I and Sarah.

Diorama Google Drawing

Sarah Jane had also created google drawing for our project. I had added some final touches to the google drawing. I had decided to show you guys. Here is a screenshot of our google drawing that we made.

Slide Deck for Diorama

Tomorrow we are going to be doing presentations about our Diorama projects. So tomorrow when we present our projects we will also have a slide to talk about it. I have recently just created this slide, here is my slide deck, make sure to read it.

Diorama Project

As you guys know Room 11 and Room 12 have been working on dioramas for inquiry. My questions were about volcanoes. I have been working on my diorama with my best friend Sarah Jane. Our project is a camp site basically near a volcano, its a very unique idea.Here is a photo of our completed diorama.

Technology

Today was the last day at cooking class. They made pasta salad which I heard was very delicious. Sadly I couldn't attend cooking because I was at Inter schools. I didn't have a photo of what it looks like. So here is a photo of a pasta salad.

Interschools

Today some students from Glen Taylor went to Inter schools at Bailey Road School. Inter schools is were kids from school compete at cross country in each year group.  The ground was very muddy when I ran so, muddy my shoes got stuck in the mud. We had so much fun at Inter schools, here is some photo's at Inter schools.

Quick Write 5

Here is another quick write we had done one morning. If you don;t know what quick write is its when my teacher will put a photo on the apple TV and its our job to create our own story. Here is a screenshot of my quick write.

The Bermuda Triangle

One of our tasks for the Geography Project was called The Bermuda Triangle. The Bermuda Triangle is a defined region located  in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean. Innumerable aircraft and ships have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. We had to write about the Bermuda Triangle and write seven facts about it. Here is a google drawing of my work.

Geography!

This Morning Miss Tupou gave us a Geography Project. We had got eleven questions about the world, we had to find the answers to each question and also add an image. I like this Geography Project , here is a simple google slide I created of my work.

Pasifika Pearls

Today the Pasifika Pearls had walked down to St Heleirs school to perform. They had done many pacific dances, the boys had done a Tongan haka, and Brooklyn had done a beautiful solo. I think that the Pasifika Pearls had done an amazing performance at St Heleirs. Here is some photo's during there performance.

Zumba

Today after Room 3's assembly the seniors had done zumba in the hall for half an hour. We danced to Live Love Party and Nevena and Goran. Everyone one was having a good time which was good. Here is some photo's during Zumba.

Room 3's Assembly

This morning it was Room 3's assembly. The had showed us there learning, The performed a dance, and they also showed us some videos. Room 3's assembly was very amusing and enjoyable. Here is some photo's of there assembly.

Painting our Volcano

Today I and Sarah Jane painted our volcano. As you guys know for the past days we have been doing paper mach on our volcano. Well today I and Sarah Jane decided to finally paint our volcano. I and Sarah Jane decided that our volcano was going to be brown. Here is a photo of our beautiful volcano.

Last Week Of Orienteering

This morning we had our last day of orienteering. Irien had put controls everywhere around the school for us to find. Everyone got timed, Leon came 1st out of our whole class. Rikki Jo and Me came 2nd for orienteering. Here is some photo's of all our sessions.

Spelling Test

Today We had our Spelling Test. Our spelling test this term was Schonell Spelling Test A. The words were quite hard to spell but, I think I still done good. I can't wait to see my results to see If I got higher. There were some words I did not know but I tried to spell it. Just wanted to post about this for fun.

Technology

This week for cooking class at tech we had made PIZZAS. My team and I were so happy that we were making pizzas. My group had to make 2 pizzas because there was three of us. Once the pizzas were cooked we ate them and they were delicious. I don't have a photo of our pizza but here is a photo.

Session with Mrs Grant

Today we had our session with Mrs Grant.Today we learnt how to make our blog post more attractive and appealing. After we had learnt how to make our blog post more attractive we had to go on our blogger and check if we had done those things. After I had completed doing those things I done some commenting. 

Water Cycle Lantern

For writing in the class we are making Water Cycle Lanterns. We get given 4 circle for our water cycle lantern. In one circle we have to draw the illustration of an water cycle, In the second circle we have to write explanations on different types of clouds. In the third circle we have to write an explanation of a water cycle and on the fourth circle we have to Describe what condensation, precipitation, evaporation and Collection is. So far I've completed my first circle and I'm onto my second circle, here is a photo of my first circle.

Basi Facts Test

This morning Room 11 had there Basic Facts Test. Everyone was nervous but, Miss Tupou told us we were going to be fine which helped. I think my basic facts test was easy so, I'm pretty confident. Hopefully I get good test results back.

IKAN Test

This morning Room 11 had there IKAN Test. Everyone was nervous but, Miss Tupou told us we were going to be fine which helped. I think I done a good job and I tried my best which is good. Hopefully I get good test results back.

Volcano Paper Mache

Today for our last block I, Reece and Sarah Jane continued to paper mache our volcano. It had been two days and we have been doing paper mache. (Why are they still doing paper mache?) We are still doing paper mache because we want to overlap our volcano. Here is a photo of I an my group doing our paper mache.

Fire Sheilds

Everyone in Room 11 had to make a F.I.R.E shield. We had to also write an F.I.R.E statement on google docs to put below our F.I.R.E shield. Miss Tupou printed out our fire statements and there completed. Have a look at a photo of my fire shield and my fire statement.

Measurement Matters

This morning for maths we had to go on this maths site called Measuring Matters. For lesson one we had to estimate how long we think each object given would be and then measure it to see if you got close. Here is the doc I worked on.

Wonder Novel Study 1

For reading we are reading a book wonder. After we read pages we have to complete tasks and activities on a slide. This is the first slide I had to complete, you guys have already seen the second slide.

This morning Miss Tupou said that everyone in the class had to comment on each others blogs and put it in the slide Mrs Grant gave us. I had done some commenting so I thought I would show you guys. Scroll down to see my comments.

Diorama doc

This Term Room 11 and Room 12 are buddy classes. For inquiry both of our teachers decided that we are going to make dioramas. Everyone got partnered up with someone from another class, my buddy is Reece. Our teachers said that before we started making our dioramas we had to create a doc. This doc had to inform our teachers on what materials we needed. Scroll down to see I and Reece's doc.

Tasks for Wonder

Today for reading Wendt ( My Reading Group) had to read up to page 100 for our wonder book. Once we had completed reading our book we had to go on a slide Miss Tupou had made for us. We had to completed some of the tasks given on the slide. Have a look at the slide.

Kids Can Cards

At Glen Taylor each class made thank you cards for Kids Can. Kids Can is a company who gives free shoes, jackets, food and pants to schools around New Zealand. Miss Tupou picked I an Amy to create the card for Kids Can, have a look at our AMAZING card!

Duffy Books

As you guys know Glen Taylor had there Duffy assembly. We had a role model come to our school to talk to us why its important to read books. When we have Duffy assemblies we also get 2 books per person which is very cool. Room 11 got their Duffy books, take a look at some photo's.

Te Reo with Saphire & Kelly

We had learnt Te Reo with Saphire and Kelly. The taught us some keywords in Maori and words in Maori. They also done a quiz on us and if we got a question right we would win a lolly. At the end there was a tricky questions and for this you would win a big block of chocolate and a few lollies. Here is some photo's.

Zumba

This morning Room 11,12 and 10 done ZUMBA! in the hall. We done 5 dances, everyone had so much fun dancing away with each other. Miss Siale was giving out lollies for people who were dancing very good. I don't have any photo's of Zumba but, I thought I would just post about this.

Room 7's Assembly

Today Room 7 had an assembly. They had showed us video were they interviewed students from Room 6. They also made poems about some teachers in our school and they done a dance called Cat Party! Room 7 had an AWESOME! assembly can't wait for there next assembly.

Natural Disasters

For homework this week Miss Tupou gave us a task. Our task was to list down as much natural disasters we can in one minute. I managed to write down five, I was panicking because I had only one minute and before I knew the timer went off. Scroll down to see a google drawing I made about this.

ICAS Students

Glen Taylor had joined a programme. Students from Australia and New Zealand participate. The school had picked 3 top students for each year level to take a test. The would get given either a reading, writing or maths test. Last Friday some students from our school got certificates, here is a photo.

Elstree Creek

Last Term Room 11 went to Elstree Creek to learn about streams.We had a lot of fun seeing different type of performances and meeting people that take care of the streams. Here is some photo's at Elstree Creek.

Would you rather... #3

For homework this week one of our tasks is would you rather... This weeks would you rather was would you have a A mansion in the SNOW or a mansion on an TROPICAL ISLAND? I had picked a mansion on a tropical island, I had made a simple google drawing about why I pick the tropical island. Scroll down to see my google drawing.

Anne Frank

The famous person for this weeks homework is Anne Frank. My teacher gives us a couple of questions about Anne Frank and our job is to find the answers. We also have to find some facts about her, instead of showing you guys a boring doc I made a simple google drawing about her. Have a look!

Orienteering

Today Room 11 had orienteering with Leon & Irien. Today the grass was very muddy so most of us took our shoes off and went with feet. Everyone had a partner and we would each take turns finding four controls on each map. There were 4 maps so, thats 16 controls we had to find altogether.
